Lindsay James is the Vice President, Restorative Enterprise for Interface, the global sustainability leader and the world’s largest manufacturer of commercial carpet tile (NASDAQ: TILE).  She serves as the biomimicry expert for Interface, where she expands Interface’s thought leadership and sustainability vision, aligns the company’s initiatives with this vision, and creates initiatives to engage Interface associates in the sustainability journey. She aspires to integrate biomimicry into Interface’s sustainability vision and actions and discover a path for business to become regenerative.

Amy Coffman Phillips is the founder of The B-Collaborative, an education and design consultancy, serving to catalyze and facilitate exciting, nature-based projects.  Amy makes presentations on biomimicry, facilitates workshops and brainstorming charrettes, and develops projects for clients looking to learn from nature to facilitate regenerative design. She co-developed a Naturally Resilient Workshop for businesses looking to integrate biological resilience strategies into their strategic planning, and is facilitating the development AskPlace Chicago.  Amy is a licensed architect, LEED BD+C, MBA and Co-Founder of Biomimicry Chicago.

Colin Rohlfing
Colin is a Sustainable Design Leader and Director of sustainable consulting for the North Central Region of Hellmuth, Obata and Kassabaum Inc. (HOK). For the past 7 years, he worked with local, regional and firm-wide HOK project teams to facilitate sustainable design integration and building certification for various projects throughout the firm. Notable projects include King Abdullah University of Science and Technology, the world’s largest LEED Platinum project and Wellmark Blue Cross Blue Shield, the world’s largest LEED NC Platinum project.

Colin oversees the execution of sustainable solutions for HOK clients, which include green work place solutions, sustainable operation plans, Green House Gas emissions benchmarking and mitigation, occupant engagement and behavioral programs and broader sustainability planning for campuses, cities, municipalities and real estate portfolios. Colin works with public and private sector clients on commercial buildings, hotels, hospitals, airports, higher education, science and technology, and city master planning.

Colin is a frequent speaker at various sustainable events throughout the world. He has presented at over 35 events both nationally and internationally. In 2010, he was named to Midwest Construction’s Top 20 under 40 list and received an American Institute of Architect’s Presidents citation for his work on the 2030 Challenge in Chicago.

Peter Nicholson
Peter Nicholson is Executive Director of the Foresight Design Initiative, an organization he established in 2002, and Principal of the enterprises design practice. Through these positions, he leads a multifaceted career focused on the creative pursuit of greater social, environmental and economic sustainability. Peter consults on and undertakes innovative sustainable design projects for a diversity of clients, including government agencies, institutional nonprofits, and diverse businesses. Considered a highly adept discussion facilitator, he hosts Foresight's monthly Green Drinks panels and is in regular demand as a guest speaker and moderator. Peter is dedicated to the education of the next generation of sustainability-minded leaders and regularly mentors interns as well as teaches the Foresight Immersion and NEXT programs. Prior to establishing the Foresight Design Initiative, he held a variety of positions in the corporate and non-profit sectors. In each, he has consistently pursued growth and innovation. Peter began his study of Sustainability and Design at the IIT Institute of Design and holds a bachelors degree from Oberlin College.

Rachel Hahs

Rachel Hahs
Rachel holds a Master of Science in Biomimicry, and is a Certified Biomimicry Professional (CBP), Envision Sustainability Professional (ENV SP) and project manager with over 13 years of experience in the environmental field focusing on sustainability, innovation and due diligence. Rachel is a systems thinker with a deep understanding of sustainability challenges from innovation and design through operations and end-of-life cycles. She develops and facilitates biomimicry-based sustainable innovation workshops and design charrettes, conducts original biomimicry research on the topic of disruptive innovation, and provides other related services including private and public speaking engagements. Rachel recently started Think Biomimicry, a blog and resource website that aims to enable people to shift from biomimicry-based ideas to implementation to game-changing disruption. As a project manager at AECOM, she manages multi-disciplinary teams and provides technical support to deliver a wide variety of sustainability program development and implementation services for private and public sector clients.
